Frequently Asked Questions about my Sample Packs and Instrumentals
Hey music lovers! I often get asked all sorts of questions about my sample packs and instrumentals. That’s why I’ve compiled the most frequently asked questions and my answers below in various categories. I hope this helps you. Please feel free to contact me at any time if you have any further questions. You can reach me or my team at any time at this email address.
🎧 1. Licensing & Usage Rights
Are these samples royalty-free?
Yes, all samples from DAN are royalty-free. You don’t need to credit DAN as a producer or DANS TUNES.
Can I use your loops and samples in commercial releases?
Yes, you can use all the samples and loops in your commercial releases. There is no need to mention DAN or DANS TUNES. You are completely on the safe side legally.
Do I need to give credit to you?
No, you don’t have to name the source of your samples and loops. That’s perfectly legal. If you hear otherwise, for example from a music supervisor who wants to use your song with our samples for a commercial, please forward it to us. We’ll clarify it for you.
Can I use these samples in beats I sell on BeatStars / YouTube / Spotify?
Yes, you can create a new song with our samples and sell it on BeatStars, YouTube, Spotify or any other music streaming service. However, you may not resell our samples to third parties on a 1:1 basis. This violates our terms of use, and we may take legal action against you. Please do not resell our sample packs, even as part of your own sample packs.
Can I re-sell or repackage these sounds?
No, you cannot resell our samples, loops, presets, or sample packs. This violates our terms of use, and we may take legal action against you.
🎸 2. Format & Compatibility
What format are the samples in (WAV, AIFF, MIDI, etc.)?
All samples are delivered as 48 kHz WAV-Files. The format of the preset files depends on the DAW for which we created the presets. All presets are generally compatible with Logic, Ableton, and FL Studio, at a minimum.
Will this work in my DAW (FL Studio, Ableton, Logic, etc.)?
Yes, all samples work in your DAW. Just import the WAV file and adjust it to the key and tempo of your song in your DAW.
Are the loops tempo-synced and labeled with BPM and key?
All loops and samples are recorded in a specific key and tempo, but can be transferred easily to another key and tempo in your DAW. If this is not working for you, we are happy to send you other keys and tempos as well. Please send us an email.
Do the samples come as dry and wet versions?
All samples are dry recordings. This gives you the flexibility to make adjustments. Some sample packs also have wet recordings included. If you bought a sample pack with wet versions and you need dry recordings only, just let us know. We send you dry versions as well.
Are there one-shots included, or just loops?
For guitar samples, it doesn’t make sense usually, to deliver one-shots. This makes totally sense for drums, for examples. But not for guitar recordings. But some of our sample packs have presets for your DAW included. These are single guitar tones you can play on your midi keyboard. From this perspective you also have one-shots if you need it.
🎚️ 3. Content & Style
What genre or vibe is this pack best for?
The samples are made for pop music, electronic dance or pop-rock music. But you can use the samples for any genre you like! Get creative, cut the samples into individual parts or use them for any genre, e.g. hip hop, country, etc. There are no limits to your creativity. We strive to offer neutral guitar chords and chord progressions that are suitable for any genre.
How many loops/samples are included?
This depends on the sample pack. We have packs with 50 samples, packs with 200 samples or packs with just 10 chords like our very inexpensive Funk pack with funky guitar chords and progressions.
Are there previews or demo tracks available?
Yes, on every sample pack page within our shop, you find a music player to listen to a couple of samples before you buy it.
Are these real guitars or VST/instrumental sounds?
These are real guitar sounds, recorded on PRS and MusicMan guitars, in most cases together with Bogner Amps, that DAN uses in his studio.
Who played/recorded these samples?
All samples are played and recorded by DAN – the music producer you’re buying the samples from. He is a professional guitarist since more than 25 years and understands very well how a great guitar needs to sound like on recordings.
💡 4. Technical Quality
What’s the bit depth and sample rate (e.g. 24-bit / 44.1kHz)
All recordings are made in 48 kHz.
Are the samples mixed/mastered or raw?
The samples are not mixed and mastered. There’s a simple reason for this: every producer or artist has their own sound and specific ideas about how a guitar should sound in a specific song. With reverb, without reverb, with delay, without delay, with saturation, without saturation. You get the point. It makes little sense to mix and master the guitars.
Were they recorded with analog gear or digital plugins?
All guitars are recorded with analog gear. Sometimes DAN adds digital plugins if this makes the sound better.
How are the loops cut — perfectly timed or need editing?
The samples are recorded with a metronome and normally do not require any special editing. Of course, it is up to you to cut and edit the samples to suit your taste. Samples and loops are always the “raw material” for your song. That certain something extra. You decide what to do with them.
💰 5. Purchase & Support
How do I download the pack after purchase?
You see a download link already on the confirmation page of our online shop. In addition you get a download link by email after your purchase.
Is there a refund policy?
We don’t have a direct refund policy, but we do have a satisfaction guarantee. It works as follows: You purchase one of our sample packs and are not satisfied with one or more samples. However, these should be specific, verifiable issues. For example: The recording quality is poor. Or a sample is cut off before the end of the recording. If there are verifiable quality issues with the samples, you will receive a new recording free of charge. However, this does not apply to the entire sample pack. So you can’t buy the pack and then say, “I don’t like it, please re-record everything.” That’s not possible.
Do you offer bundle deals or discounts?
Yes, we offer bundles frequently. Please have a look at our online shop. We also offer deals and discounts from time to time. If you are subscribed to our newsletter, you get the latest deals by email!
Can I use PayPal / Stripe / Apple Pay?
We process all payments via Stripe. This means you can also pay with PayPal, Google Pay, or Apple Pay. Or simply with your American Express, Mastercard, or VISA credit card.
Will I get future updates for free?
As a rule, we do not update existing sample packs. There will be further versions of the sample packs in the future. Unfortunately, these are not available free of charge. A great deal of effort goes into recording these samples, even if it may not seem so at first glance.
A sample pack with 50 samples takes DAN at least 1-2 days to complete. This includes: recording several takes in order to select the best one, post-processing, creating the graphics for the sample pack, maintaining the online shop, recording videos for advertisements, preparing advertisements, and so on.
🧠 6. Creative & Marketing Curiosity
What makes this pack different from others?
To our knowledge, no other provider offers a satisfaction guarantee with free re-recordings. We also offer custom packs, where we create a sample pack exactly according to your specifications. You won’t find anything like this from other providers. Splice and others are not interested in your individual requirements. Take it or leave it. What’s more, nowhere else do you have a personal contact person and can speak directly to the creator of the samples and ask questions. That’s unique nowadays. No creepy AI chatbot, no standard answers. Guaranteed.
What’s your recording process?
We have several guitar amps in the studio, mostly from Bogner, Marshall, or Orange, and several microphone setups that we prepare for recording.
The following microphones are used, among others: Sennheiser MD421, MD421 Compact, Neumann TLM 103, Neumann KM84, Shure SM57. With a 2×12 guitar cabinet, we usually record with two different microphones on one speaker for a balanced sound. DAN prefers a rich vintage Strat sound, which we achieve this way.
Can I request custom loops?
Yes, you can! To do this, simply order the Custom Loop Pack via the online shop and we will arrange a Google Meet call with you to discuss what you need. We will then record two or three examples and discuss them with you. Once you are happy, we will record 50 custom loops according to your specifications.
How do I make my own sample pack like this?
That’s a very good question. You need a good strategy and samples that set you apart from others. This requires a lot of creativity and work. Think about what you’re particularly good at and what others can’t offer. Which instrument do you play very well? Then you can turn that into a sample pack. You can find numerous tutorials on YouTube or ChatGPT about how to create a sample pack.
